March 13, 2020
Dear Participants, Providers, Sponsors and Allies,
Re: Women Build BC 2020 Conference POSTPONED
On March 12, 2020, Adrian Dix, minister of health and Dr. Bonnie Henry, the provincial health officer of British Columbia, issued a statement directing all event organizers to cancel any gathering larger than 250 people to prevent transmission of COVID-19. As the Women Build BC 2020 conference falls within this threshold, it is with heavy hearts that we announce that we will be rescheduling the conference.
The BC Centre for Women in the Trades was very excited to host you at Women Build BC 2020; however, the health and safety of the public, and the workers staffing these events and associated activities, are very important to us.
Stay tuned for new dates for Women Build BC 2020! BCCWITT looks forward to announcing new dates for the conference, when we can gather with the confidence that we are providing a healthy and safe environment for all participants and staff. We are already in conversations with our venue about new dates. All participant registrations will be honoured for the new dates.
We understand that this unforeseen event impacts our participants, speakers, sponsors, and the staff at the conference venue. We thank you for your efforts to make Women Build BC 2020 a success and eagerly anticipate engaging with you again soon.
We will provide regular updates on the progress of rescheduling the conference. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our conference coordinator, Lindsay Kearns, at [email protected].
Sincerely,
Nina Hansen
